Giving to the Lord’s work is an act of worship for the followers of Christ. In response to God’s love for us in His Son, we love Him in return. Part of that love involves furthering His kingdom work through the offering of our lives and our possessions. We worship the Lord when we offer our lives as a holy and living sacrifice, leading to a life of faithful service to Him. When we give financially, we glorify God, as we give purposefully, voluntarily, and cheerfully. We give not in order to receive, but we give because we have received God’s abundant grace.
